The Board of Directors

Robert F. Ward
A native of Meridian, Board President Robert Ward graduated from Millsaps College and earned a master’s degree in marketing from the University of Alabama.  He is president of Windmill Properties and has been affiliated with Broadmoor Development Company since 1972.

Robert B. Deen, Jr.
Bob Deen serves as the foundation's Senior Vice-President.  The Tupelo native attended North Carolina State University and Mississippi State University.  Mr. Deen earned his law degree from Vanderbilt University.  He is retired from practicing law.

Ronnie L. Walton
Ronnie L. Walton, foundation Secretary and General Counsel, is a Carthage native, has been a member of the Meridian law firm of Glover, Young, Walton & Simmons, PLLC since 1976.  He received his B. S. degree in Chemical Engineering from Mississippi State University in 1971.  He received his Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Mississippi in 1975.

Marty Davidson
Marty is a graduate of Tulane University with a MBA in Business Administration and serves as Vice President of Investments.  Mr. Davidson is Chairman of the Board of Southern Pipe and Supply Company, Inc. in Meridian, MS.

Jim McGinnis
Jim McGinnis, III is a graduate of Meridian High School and the University of Mississippi with a B. A. in English.  He is President and CEO of McGinnis Lumber Company.

Kacey Bailey
Kacey Guy Bailey is a partner in the Meridian law firm of Barry, Palmer, Thaggard, May and Bailey. A Laurel native, she is a graduate of Princeton University and the University of Mississippi School of Law. She is a past president of the Lauderdale County Bar Association and Meridian Junior Auxillary.

Michael Van Veckhoven
Michael Van Veckhoven, a Meridian native, is Dealer Principal of New South Ford and Nissan of Meridian. He has twice been appointed to the Meridian Public School District Board of Trustees and is a current member. He attended Meridian Community College, the University of Mississippi and the University of Montana.

The Staff

Sheryl Flood
Sheryl Flood serves as the foundation’s office manager.  A graduate of Meridian Community College, Ms. Flood also attended Mississippi College.  She is a past district governor in Civitan International and served as secretary of the board of Mississippi Industries for the Developmentally Disabled-Meridian.

Lloyd Gray
Lloyd Gray is the Executive Director of the Phil Hardin Foundation. A native Mississippian and longtime state journalist, Mr. Gray was Executive Editor of the Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal in Tupelo from 1992 until 2015. Before that he served as Editor of The Meridian Star and Managing Editor of The Sun Herald on the Mississippi Gulf Coast and was an Assistant Secretary of State for the State of Mississippi. A graduate of Millsaps College, he is a past President of the Mississippi Press Association and former Chairman of its Education Foundation.
